Barber Park Wildlife
Barber Park is an excellent place for wildlife watching. More than 121
species of birds live here, from bald eagles to black-chinned hummingbirds.
Fox squirrels and garter snakes are prevalent. Mule deer, whitetail deer,
fox, beaver, raccoon and mink are also common.
Many animals are rarely seen in the daytime, but if you watch closely
you can often find their tracks on the river beach or on a park trail.
Here is an example of what tracks you might find:

Barber Park large cottonwood forest provides important
habitat for tree-nesting birds (wood ducks, owls, flickers, etc.) and
even an occasional elk.
Stay on the trail as you explore, and keep
your dog contained. Enjoy the beauty of Barber Park!
