| Three sections of the Lucky Peak area include Spring Shores with two boat ramps, parking, a full-service marina, on-site watercraft rentals and a convenience store. Discovery Park, popular for picnics, is great for walking along the shoreline, throwing your pooch a frisbee, or fishing the Boise River. Sandy Point is located at the base of Lucky Peak Dam; fans of Sandy Point love its sand beaches and crystal clear water.
Lucky Peak makes accessing the backcountry simple. More than 50 miles of multi-purpose trails offer a place to get away from the city, various accommodations, and a chance to spend time in Idaho's wonderful outdoors. |

Western Foothills |
228 acres are reserved from the Ada County Landfill property
for open space and trails. This latest addition to Ada County’s
open space and trails effort is in an underserved part of the
county. Very little public land or trails currently exists
in the western foothills. The Concept Site Plan for the area
includes:
One parking area for 10-14 cars and two horse trailers.
Approximately 3 miles of non-motorized trails.
Similar to Barber Park and Expo Idaho, the site is managed by
Ada County Recreation & Event Services. |
Ridge to Rivers |
| With over 125 miles of trail, there is something for everyone in this laborith of trails. Check out the Ridge to Rivers Web site for great trail information, up-to-the-minute news and trail tips.
The Schafer Butte Trail system, located to the right, is just one of many routes through the Ridge to Rivers complex.

| Hubbard Reservoir |
| The goal of Friends of Hubbard Reservoir (FOHR) is to elevate the public’s awareness of the vast potential held by Hubbard Reservoir. FOHR encourages local government, business, schools and citizens to donate funds and time to improve the accessibility to and use of the site. There is enormous potential here for a beautiful nature preserve, strategically located in the middle of what will eventually be large housing developments. |
